About Sunken Gardens in the City of Atascadero is a unique garden that has not been publicized much. For the most part, Atascadero is a resort community located on the beautiful Pacific Ocean. However, there are many interesting things to see and do within the boundaries of this community. This includes visiting local attractions and learning about the local history. It also includes a series of beautiful gardens. Many of these gardens were created by the likes of Edith Head and her husband, Frank Lloyd Wright, who designed many of them.

A variety of different gardens can be found here, ranging from landscapes to container gardens to tropical style gardens. These gardens are located along the coast and at the base of some of the mountains. The views in many of these gardens are spectacular. They also have a natural rustic charm to them that makes them seem very old and rustic, while still beautiful.

Among the most popular garden locations here are the Lassen Tree, Bear Dance Rock and the Plazas de Solano area. There is a large portion of land devoted to sporting fields, golf courses and Pools. The majority of these facilities are open year round and offer tennis, volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, swimming, hiking and horseback riding. This portion of land also offers outdoor concerts, festivals and events for visitors to enjoy.

Besides the gardens, the historical Museum is located here. It features an interpretive center, a gift shop and a restaurant. Other activities include: the Solano Coast Path, Solano Island Sightseeing, Solano Historical Society and a Solano Outdoor Center. All of these attractions can be enjoyed by taking a day trip out to Atascadero from San Diego or Los Angeles.

About Atascadero, CA is a unique community. With over eighty different types of gardens to visit, one is sure to find something he or she will enjoy. The majority of Atascadero sites can be explored on foot or by taking an adventurous bicycle tour. Visitors are even allowed to take pictures at many of the gardens.

Another interesting fact about Atascadero is that it is a National Historic Landmark. This area was home to over one million ancestors of the Americans who settled in California. In fact, a portion of this area was considered the original American village.
